5.3 Vortec install?
Has anyone swapped a 5.3 into their truck. What kind of problems did you run into? What kind of motor mounts? Did you also use the 4L60E tranny or an older trans.? Have an '03 Tahoe and love the way it runs. Would like to swap the same engine sometime late this year.

I personaly have not done this swap but have looked into swapping in a new LS based engine into my 65 nova.The 4.8,5.3,and the 6.0 engines are the same as the LS-1 and LS-6 engines in basic design. Alot of the parts are inter-changeable. T he trucks have differnt oil pans than the camaros and fire birds. The corvette has a differnt pan is also differnt. street and performance makes really good motormounts for swapping these engines into any thing. check them out at hotrodlane.cc they should be able to help you out. good luck |

A friend is swapping that engine and tranny now into his 55 Chevy 2 door wagon. Talked to him last night, has run into any real trouble yet.
