WTB PS bracket

the pump is a 72 GMC one.

That's not an original 72 model pump. The original pump has a bolt on pulley, that's a press on pulley. That pump is later model.

Your truck also has the later model alternator bracket setup on it.

Just thought you should know that the original bracket won't work for what you need...

Tx is correct as usual, 72 pumps bolt to front motor mount hole, not the head.

i know the Alt aint original....i changed it...it's an 86 the gear box and pump came off a 72 GMC i bought. what kind of bracket do i need? the 86 PS bracket wont fit.

Yes, those 1st two pictures were originally posted by me. Those are brackets I've taken off of 69-72 trucks that I parted out.

Neither type will work as long as you're using an 85 alternator bracket setup though.

It all has to match, long or short pump, you can't mis-match the two types and have them work.

will the 86 gearbox fit my frame? i have the bracket for the 86 pump and the lines and box...

ill probably just do that then. what is the steering box and pump worth shown in the pic?

I usually sell that style for 20 bucks or so.

They were used on pretty much everything with a SBC from 73-the late 80's.
