Re: 4L80E question

Good question, what engine do you have? Hopefully someone else will chime in with more info.

Re: 4L80E question

I have a baumann electronics box. 100% programmable. They have updated it now, not sure if you can get the old one or not yet, I think I got one of the last. Not sure I would need it to do anymore than it does. i was a bit scared not being a tranny guy and all, but their customer service is second to none. They took as long as I needed to understand what I screwed up

Re: 4L80E question

I have a TCI controller/harness for the 4L80 behind the 468 in my K25. Before you go with the 4L80, I would suggest you look at a GearVendors overdrive. If I had to do things over again, I would go with the GearVendors unit...it's rated at 1200hp, you get 6 speed, and it's nearly bullet-proof...all for $2500.
I got my 4L80 for $100 from a friend...the hard parts rebuild was $1100...the TCI converter was $500...the TCI trans controller/harness I got used for $800...that's $2500 for 4 speeds and maybe 650hp...not to mention all the headaches with programming the controller. Don't ask about how much it cost to convert it to an NP205 transfer case...milling the t400 adapter...and on and on....
Here's a pic:
