Questions about new seat

I'm looking at a replacement seat from a late model Ford, very similar to Buddy Buckets.

I assume I'll have to make some brackets to bolt them down in my 72. My question is what are you using to bolt these to the floor. I'm assuming I'll need to do more than just punch a hole in the floor and bolt it down. What are you using for additional support on the floor?

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Questions about new seat

If you're anywhere near the original holes that basically have a nut welded to the underside of the floor pan, there are braces there supporting the seats. If you're not drilling close to the original holes, you can simply reinforce the underside of the pan with channel. I'd recommend running it between the support floor braces to get maximum support. Oh and be sure to weld the entire seam and then use seam sealer and paint to prevent rust.

Hey Mike! How goes it? Sounds like the knee's doing better.

Here is the seat(s) I'm looking at. They're out of a late model Ford. The price is right, but before I pull the trigger I'm trying to see how big a deal it's going to be to get them into my ride. If I get them, I'm going to have the wiffy reupholster them, so it's probably going to be a while before I'm ready to actually install. Thanks for the offer though.

Sent you a PM on an unrelated subject.
