Junkyards in Middle or West Tn???

I did a quick search thinking there might be a junkyard thread, but couldn't find anything.

Does anybody know of any good junkyards in the Middle or West Tn Regions?

In the past 4 years the three local yards that had parts have gone through crushing everything. Last one in the past few months.

I realize I can get everyting I need through the parts section, but it's not the same as spending hours wondering through a maze of history and pulling your own parts.

I know some people hold onto this type of info like it's top secret, but any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Junkyards in Middle or West Tn???

Were ya located at? what parts you looking for?

The pull-a-part in Nashville had some c-10s in it last weekend.
I also know a guy who selling a 72 chevy c20 long bed... selling for $400 but told me when i called he'd take $250. Its pretty grungy but still.

there's quite a few trucks around

Re: Junkyards in Middle or West Tn???

I need some AC parts. But more than that I need some time in one of these shrines. Back in Texas I went all the time, here due the lack of yards, very infrequent.

A guy at work today mentioned one in Adamsville, said it was huge, miles and miles of vehicles.

Any AC cab trucks there that you remember?

Like I said, any help is appreciated.

Good luck!! I live in west TN and these people hang onto their stuff like its gold!! And price it that way too. I recently made a deal with a guy to get a bunch of stuff from his collection. He had a couple A/C trucks but the bodies are shot. In fact I cut a section of frame out of one of them this weekend. What kind of A/C parts are ya looking for and ill see what i can do.

Re: Junkyards in Middle or West Tn???

Monte, I'll pm you. I really didn't mean for this to turn into a wtb thread. I was really hoping someone might know of a yard or two in the west half of the state. Just miss getting out and spending a day scrounging.

Thanks

Re: Junkyards in Middle or West Tn???

There is a small junkyard off of Hwy 13 between I-40 and Lobelville. I have seen a couple of our trucks there, but I have no idea what the name of the place is or they even sell parts. Looks more like someones house that has alot of toys.

Re: Junkyards in Middle or West Tn???

Rlb67, the guy you mention south of I-40 on the way to Lobelville DEOS NOT sell parts. That guy has about 1000 cars stored between his dads place and his place. That place is his dads by the way.

He buys and sells, but buys faster than he sells. I've spoke to him, his dad and some of his buddies. I have yet to work out a tour. He has some very nice cars and some that are just rotting away. Very sad to see.

Everyone else, THANKS.

Anyone else know of any places?

Re: Junkyards in Middle or West Tn???

This may be hard to believe, but I'm not looking for anything in particular. I just want to look! I really enjoy walking through junkyards. It's entertainment, like going to a movie.

Re: Junkyards in Middle or West Tn???

Badsam-I hear what your saying-I thought I was nuts for liking to walk junkyards, I find it recharges my batteries! I go once a week to 4 pick-a-parts within twenty miles of my house-they all chage out at least one to five rows of trucks a week so I see about 6-10 67-72's every week. I guess you could go on vacation-I mean some people go to disneyland but I would rather go to pick-a-part. Its about the only thing I still like about california.
