Where does the manual choke cable go through the firewall?

I reckon this question will mainly be directed at 67-68 owners since the later model trucks like mine had a thermostatic choke. Now I've installed a Holley with manual choke and need to run the cable. I figured the best way to route it would be in the original stock location. For those of you who have a truck so equipped, a photo or brief description would be appreciated.

They usually go through the firewall next to the wiper hoses. It may have a mark to drill if it was not factory installed.

Re: Where does the manual choke cable go through the firewall?

Thanks for the tip. Mine doesn't have a mark there but it's easy to see where to drill a hole. Curiously, over on the left side of the firewall just a few inches to the left of the distributor there is a 1/4 factory punched hole. It might work to route the choke cable. It's right in line with where it needs to go to the carb but on the inside it's slightly below the top of the heater duct work.
We're having another cold spell so it'll be a few days before I get back to it and decide where to run it.
Thanks

Re: Where does the manual choke cable go through the firewall?

I know this is kind of a cluttered picture. But the green arrow is where the cable goes through the firewall and the purple arrow is the choke cable that you can follow up. The pass through is more so on the upper portion of the depression for the engine.

PS. This is a 1967 cab.

Thanks for the pic. I'll put it right in that location. I've decided not to reinvent the wheel and attempt to run it through the other hole I found. Your photo shows the same hole I was talking about. Now I wonder why that's there?

I don't know if there's a difference between v8 and 6's, but here's a pic of the choke cable on my 68 GMC. It's the top cable.

Re: Where does the manual choke cable go through the firewall?

I dont have any pics, BUT if you find a c40-c60 that had a 366-427 in it, they had manual choke holleys on IIRC all of them. A few board members own them and hopefully someone chimes in that has easy access to a pic or two from under the hoods of one of their's... Not a lot of help but hopefully a little...

You mean one like this?

I see the choke now. It's for sale about 25 min from my house.
