Relocated Tank Question
I'm putting a Blazer fuel tank in my truck to replace the stock one. Do I need an in-line or extra fuel pump for it or will the stock mechanical fuel pump work OK for me?
I've seem a few pictures of others doing it on the board and they all seemed to have additional or the electric HiPerf fuel pumps. My engine is stock (all 250 cubes of it ) and I don't anticipate any real mods in the near future. Thanks

My relocated tank isn't from a blazer, but my stock fuel pump has worked fine with it for more than 5 years... don't try to fix something that ain't broke yet...

It will be the same as a six cylinder Blazer. You won't have any problems.
Are you using the Blazer hard lines or did you find a better way of getting your fuel from rear to the front? This has nothing to do with your fuel pump, I'm just curious.

I haven't run the lines yet. Not sure if I'm going to use blazer/burb style (V8 size) stock lines. I've been looking at some marine style fuel lines.

I have the GMC Paul's 21 gallon re-lo kit/tank and it works fine with the stock pump. Because mine was done when I bought the truck I didn't get a chance to choose where the filler went. The previous owner did an ok job but this pic borrowed from Tennesen is the best way I've seen yet to do the filler!

Palf70Step, I was just asking to see if you already had the fuel lines run. I have seen some post here and have heard to use the Blazer fuel lines to make an easier run to the fuel pump. I used the braided stainless steel lines and it was more expensive than I thought and not as easy. I had a good reason why I did it, but if I were going to do it again on another truck I would have used the blazer fuel lines. Keep us informed on what you end up installing...

They made burbs mechanical fuel pumps with no problems with fuels delivery and this is on a 127 inch wheelbase platform.
When I installed new tank and ran lines on my burb, I used 3/8 hard lines along the frame rail. These are the same hard lines used for brake lines, with same couplings. No problem whatsoever. I think all blazer/burb repo sending units are 3/8 lines, so if it were me I'd run 3/8 all the way to the fuel pump. If you do go with a 4bbl v8, you won't have to redo your fuel lines too.
