Post Your Straight Six Pics!
Post up your pics of the Straight Six! I'm especially interested in power steering setup and header/intake combos. Also state what transmission your using. I'll start. Mine's an all stock 250 with a four speed transmission.

Re: Post Your Straight Six Pics!
I don't have any pics to post as of yet...but when truck is done I'll get some up. I've got an Offy intake, Hedman long tube headers, and Edelbrock 500cfm carb.,manual choke. The tranny is a NP GM/ MY6.

kyull67...wow...is that your engine? I would much rather keep my 250 than scrap it for your usual SBC! That would be one way i would do it!

Here's the current incarnation (1) and an install shot before the power disk brake conversion during the overdrive transmission conversion (2).
Posted a couple more detailed brake booster and power steering shots here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=257942

Re: Post Your Straight Six Pics!
Joe, Of all the receipts I have, that one I cannot find. I did purchase it from NAPA as an exchange unit...that was about 6-7 years ago.

Re: Post Your Straight Six Pics!
68 GMC... Converted to p.s./p.b. using parts off other vehicles. Power steering pump and mounting hardware I got from a 70's six cylinder and bought one of the mounting brackets from the Chevy dealer about 6-7 years ago. They still had them for the newer 6's.
As you can see from the pics, I had to cut a piece of the mounting bracket since the hole didn't line up and it interfered with the alignment of the pump. There's enough other mounting hardware that it does not move... |

Re: Post Your Straight Six Pics!
This is my mighty 230. Check out how some PO welded a 2nd exhaust dump on. Who ever did it did a good job, but it aims right at the clutch pivot. Maybe for an auto trans. It don't leak, so I ain't gonna mess with it.
I know this ain't right, but it'll have to do for now. This is after power brakes, with the off set air cleaner.
