Is this worth snagging?

My wife's pawpaw has this car on a trailer. It's a 84? caddy that's heading for the big scrapyard in the sky. Is the engine (which was running before they started stripping it) worth snagging for little or nothing (scrap weight value)?

It depends on if you need a caddy engine.

Wouldn't be worth much to me.

You might want to grab the plastiv spacers between the rear 1/4 panel and the rear lights... they are worth about $50+ used and in good shape.

Would one of those power brake boosters work on our trucks? What about the A/C condensor or p/s pump? The throttle cable might be worth keeping if you ever want to upgrade to a TPI unit.

I understand the old Caddies have posi rear disc brake axles too.... sometimes those are worth a few bucks.

Not sure about that year, but Caddy tailights are generally worth something, maybe the mirrors too. Other trim pieces could be worth something if a guy has room to hang on to them for the right opportunity. And then there are the leather seats, if they are there and in decent shape. I have an '89 (112,000, and still in great shape like David's appears to be), and I've thought many times how much I would like to have those seats in my truck (if they would fit that is, but I don't think our trucks have enough room for that style seat). Too bad that car has seen better days, those ol' Caddy's are a sweet ride IMHO, I love mine.

I believe that the rear disk brake calipers can be used in rear disk conversions for our era of trucks.
