Interesting '71 Burb

I spotted this burb while visiting in NJ last week. What caught my eye was the extension behind the front doors. Anyone ever seen this before?

Probably started life as an ambulance, I doubt that they would have strecthed it just for a hotdog wagon but the side moulding looks kinda hokey

Looks like an ex ambulance, there were 4 or 5 different conversion companies making them back then, Pinner made a 4 door suburban ambulance that had a 157" wheelbase. If you want to see something really weird you should see a panel school bus.
