Joining the K5 club

You guys were having way too much fun over here, so I had to join you. I have been here for a while with my truck, but have recently purchased my first K5. I didn't need another project, but couldn't pass it up. It has it's share of rust, but is mechanically sound, (drives better than my DD), is pretty original, my color, , and the wife loves it. For now, my plan is to tune it up, take the ugly front bumper off, add some center caps & trim rings, fix a few other things here and there, and drive it. Hopefully I can restore it one day. It came with another one for parts, but the body is shot. I will part it when I have time.

Re: Joining the K5 club

"AN3" is your passenger seat. They leave off the end of the description. It reads "Heavy-Duty auxiliary seat". It was a $78.00 option. The passenger seat was an option, unless you orderer the CST option, it came with both seats.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to that. It was one of my wife's favorite features to say the least. When I told her that the top is removable, her jaw almost hit the floor. There have already been suggestions of "matching his & her trucks".

Sorry for the confusion, I was meaning on a CST you got both FRONT seats. You are correct, the rear seat was always an option. I have also seen CST's W/O rear seats!!

Thanks! The camera actually makes it look a little better than it is, but for original paint, it's not bad.

Thanks, I'm slowly learning how to resist the urge to take them apart before I have the parts, time, or cash to put them back together.

Re: Joining the K5 club

Old trucks were a hard sell to my wife until I found my Blazer. In good weather she drives it to pick my son up from school... She didn't tell me, one of my buddies saw her! She has a fit if I mention selling it (which I do about every 3 months just to irritate her) and getting something more practical...

Have fun, Rg

I wish that I could find a affordable one, but she seems to like 4x4s. She saw a jacked up 77 Bronco for sale a while back and liked it alot.

Well, not Nashville, but I will be passing through Chatanooga on my way to Maryville to deliver a 69 Camaro, then to Pigeon Forge (my older sister's house), try to see the truck nat. show, then on to Highpoint, NC to my younger sister's place to visit. Keith has a buddy near Chatanooga that has met me for parts before.
