hehe, the welds don't even look that good :P

That's a wee bit on the sketchy side... He shoulda made something that bolted up rather than welding it on. Welds will be weaker than bolts...

I've seen this guys' work before and it has always look good. The upper shock mounts certainly look sketchy though. Only time will tell and if it does break, no worries. His dad owns my bosses former truck, a bagged 02' Silverado LT extended cab.

That's some horrible looking welding IMO. Might be okay to drive&not break, but i wouldn't be especially proud of it.

The design, the fabrication, the installation, the welds, its all terrible.
I feel bad for someone who buys one of this guys trucks w/o noticing this type of thing.

While I understand and partially agree w/ your arguement in that thread, your comments are a slap in the face to allot of members here. Lowered trucks may not be your style but you can still appreciate the time/money/effort involved in building one. Besides, how many people actually "use" their trucks? Your the minority that does and I give you props. for that.....

From the looks of that weld, I'd be willing to bet there is no weld on the backside either....

Been welding for near 20 years, never had one break yet. Broken many a bolt though.

Looks to me that the way the shock is bolted to the lower control arm, as the arm moves up, it would put tremendous torque on the lower bushing and bolt. The way it is mounted is 90 degrees out of "phase" with the direction that bushing is designed to flex. A bang up job all around I quess. The next version will hopefully apply all the lessons learned from this attempt.

baggedC10, i didnt ,mean it as a slap to the face of anyone here. for the most part the people here are respectable guys, who know the limits of their ride. there is no way that a linked and bagged truck can handle the load capacity that a stock leaf sprung truck does. towing with a setup like that? give me a break! as for the lowriders being gay, and for guys who cant get it up... just ruffling feathers, remember, my K10 was once on the recieving end of a 5/7 drop.
