Rear gas tank conversion

Just wanted to see what tanks you guys use. Any pics are welcome! Just trying to get some ideas for mine. I looked at early classics tank, holy crap they are proud of that thing.

Check out Stacy David's copperhead build names of all the parts and places he bought them and you know he buys quality.

Boyd aluminum EFI tank. With pump inside. Good quality product. Their newer design has rounded edges so looks even better than my older design. I like mine though.

Re: Rear gas tank conversion

I heard you can use an early camero tank. It fits were the spair tire goes and the filler ends up behind the license plate so you would need a flip down plate from another car. I found a new tank on rockauto.com for $80.00. Thats what im thinkin of doing.

68 mustang tank. Used the ford sending unit for pickup tube. Got a 90ohm universal sender from tanksinc. and put in top of tank. Fits rails perfect. Filler will be thru bed floor...

I went with Classic Performance Products aluminum tank. Doesn't hang too low and it tapers up.

All are good choices. We offer the Boyd Welding tank which many of the members have been happy with, and they have an affordable price. They are available in both EFI and Carb setups.

I've been talking with Dave about the efi tank. I think I'm going to go with that. Gona get the efi with no pumps at first cause I'm doing a carb'd setup first and going LSX later on.

Re: Rear gas tank conversion

69 or 70 mustang tank, just put one in my 51 and it was 2 pieces of angle iron and $45 for the used tank and it is 20 gallons. only thing is ford senders read backwards of gm. but that was the cheapest and easy thing i have done yet.
