Negative Battery Cable

On my 66 GMC Lwb 2wd, where does the negative battery cable, from the battery itself, connect to on the engine exactly? It has a V6 351E in it. When I bought it, the cable was mounted to the alternator adjuster bolt...which from what I read, the cable should be connected to the engine itself. Thanks in advance!

Re: Negative Battery Cable

you should have it going either to the frame then from frame to engine,,, or from battery to engine to frame ,,, i grounded mine to the frame with one bolt that holds the battery cable eye hole end and then another battery cable that had a eye hole on each end ,then mounted the other end to a bolt that goes in front of the engine on one of the heads.. heres one similar to the one i bought at napa auto parts. to ground from engine to frame http://www.allbatterysalesandservice...fm/4,2700.html but the do make a ground strap like this http://www.appletreeauto.com/BRAIDED...FSJqgwodr1f4zw
