Wiring help, need photos please
The previous owner of my truck put a 72 2wd Auto body and harness bolted to a 1970 4x4 frame and drivetrain with AC.
The old guy was a great body man and it's a nice clean truck, but by no means was he a mechanic- or electrician. I just installed a new motor and I'm starting work on the wiring and would like to get it as factory looking as possible. My main focus right now is the ballast resistor wire- trying to figure out if it's there. I do have the small yellow wire to the coil it comes from the starter. I can NOT find the resistor wire. I'm also curious which wire on the block at firewall would control reverse lights. I figured I run it through the firewall and not under the carpet through the shift boot as it is I'd be very appreciative of any photos or guidance you guys could post that may help me in reassembling this. The wire block at firewall, ac, that weird little thing on the manifold with vacuum lines and a plug (what is that) and the resistor wire would all be helpful. Thanks! Re: Wiring help, need photos please
Search the forums for the map of the firewall, I've posted it a couple of times. Documents what every hole through the firewall is for, which wire, etc. That's a start. And then the service manual or the easily available wiring diagram here from the forums will tell you color and gauge, and that's all you need to know, really!
