Header question

Getting a deal I couldn't pass up on a set of never used Pace Setter headers for my 69 C/10's 250 I6 3ott (would love some cast shortys but not in the budget right now). I'm curious about any other experiences members might have had with fit, ease of install, etc and what thought are on the rest of the exhaust system. I've read that a Y back to a single pipe ASAP is a good idea, maybe into a 12" glasspack or something along those lines. I'm expecting nothing more from them than a bit of good ole' fashion rumble, but a little more go (as I've read is possible) would be great. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
