Re: Clean Up The 68 Chevy
Were you looking for a SWB truck? A 68 SWB Stepside or 69 SWB? Let me know there are a couple here in SA TX.

Re: Clean Up The 68 Chevy
It's YOUR truck not anyone else's. Do what you want to it. If you want to cut it up to make a SWB-DO IT!!! Unless someone here is sponsoring your build-do it any way you want.
Here is a compromise: Do what you want to it, paint it the stock colors, then tell everyone it is a 50th built the way Chevy should have built it.

Re: Clean Up The 68 Chevy
Do what you want with it, it's yours. In my opinion, leave the paint and interior factory stock and do what ever your heart desires to the rest of it.

Re: Clean Up The 68 Chevy
'71 Chevy trucks went to 5 lug wheels. Also it is the same year they went to disc brakes in the front.
My son is converting his wife's '69 to disc brakes and 5 lug bolt pattern without any problems using parts off of a '71 donor truck. Danny - Southeast Missouri |

Re: Clean Up The 68 Chevy
I Used A 72 Lwb Donor On My 68 Swb, All Brake Components, Rear End, Even Trans And Motor With No Problem. Body On Lwb Was Junk But Everything Else Worked Fine!

Re: Clean Up The 68 Chevy
Heck you can get 6-lug disc and then you don't have to convert the rear. In this day and age 6-lug is the norm, so lots and lots of 20", 22", 24" wheels are offered in 6 lug. Sweet truck drive it and do as you please, its your's!
