found it! (but not sure it will do you any good). Looks the same a pic above except the face part (as in the pic above0 that is aimed at 3'oclock does not have the item in the pic, it is just an open rectangle. It may be somewhere else in the boxes of stuff but I quit looking after examining the rest of the thing. there is an inner door activate by a small triangle thing (top of side facing away in pic) that also can activate a plunger on a switch. The problem I see with it is that the rubber edge along the inner door is pulled away, someone put some very small screw type hose clamps on the pivot post that the door is attached to in an attempt to repair it. I think it can be repaired with some epoxy based glue (I put a storm door back together with some and it holds up perfect with daily use), rather than the screw clamps..If you are interested you can have it free for the shipping. If you want pics let me know and I will try to send you some, and if it is something you want to mess with I will look for the other piece that goes in the rectangular opening tomorrow. bob

Try going on line to these two links, bought one awhile back very reasonable.
They won't show up on the website, give them a call with the part number (I believe it's on the flapper gate) http://www.gmpartsdirect.com http://www.partszoneonline.com

Be aware, most of the new ones are made with inferior rubber seals on the flapper door that fall apart in a year or two ---even those from "GM". You will be much better off if you find a decent original. If you do wind up having to buy new, make sure it has at least a one year guarantee!! You can probably take an original junker and duck tape the heck out of it to make it route the air one way only.

gone to work already, will get shipping tomorrow and let you know, it is fairly light so I would expect around $5 or less to ship priority. Send me your address by PM and I will get it ready tonight and ship tomorrow, you can pay me later, if more than $5 I will count that as a donation to your project. bob

I've been looking for one too. The rubber/plastic flaps all break. I gave up and drilled a small hole in my current box, lifted the flap up (so air goes to the defrost/floor) and put a screw in the hole to hold it up. In the summer, I pull the screw out so air comes out the vents. This is just a temporary work around until I can either locate a NOS part or decide to buck up for a reproduction part.
