lift Kit ideas/options/suggestions
I have a 1985 GMC high sierra step side.(short bed) right now im running 33/12.5/15 on stock set up. no rubbing at all no matter what. the high sierras came with a factory 2 inch lift back in the day. but my leafs a really worn out and i thought why not just get a 4 inch full suspension lift off rough country seems like a good idea at least and real cheap like $450 i believe. anyone ever ran rough country? im not looking for anything over a 6 for right now. its my daily driver during the week but hits the trails an mud holes on the weekend.

Re: lift Kit ideas/options/suggestions
I've been running 4" rough country springs in the front of my K5 for a few years now. I didn't use the blocks with the kit since I did a shackle flip on the rear springs. The front springs are pretty stiff, but for the price I don't mind. Since the kit had the shocks and raised steering arm it was worth the price. There are better springs out there, but if the budget is tight it will do the job.

Leaf spring 4x4's aren't what you can consider "plush" riding to start with. I actually don't mind the high spring rate on my rough country springs. Road feel is firm on pavement but since it's not my DD it's not a big deal to me. Off road, I will usually dump my tire pressure down to 15psi and let the tires soak up the last bit of roughness. Combined with my rear shackle flip mine is pretty soft off road.

Re: lift Kit ideas/options/suggestions
Happy enough not to worry about changing out the springs for anything else. If my K5 was no holds barred billed and money wasn't an issue I'd have some Alcan springs under it. Money is an issue and I'd rather save it up for my 5.3 LS swap than get another set of springs when these do the job.

4" lift should be fine for your needs. I have had a couple of skyjacker lift kits on my trucks and really liked them. Little more money but still not bad. Sounds like your leafs have seen some way better days haha!
