Re: My 72 SWB BB
When I first saw the pic of your motor I didn't realize which side I was looking at and thought it was from a Ford Guess that means it's about bedtime. How long before you get it installed and running?

Re: My 72 SWB BB
Man I wish I knew when I would get it installed. I took to shop to be built 11/98 and back to shop 1/02 and had broke in and put on dnyo. Was too scared to screw something up so I let them break in motor. Then had a very sick set of twins and have not touched again. I have all kins of great parts bee cool rad, jet hot headers, carpet dash, door panels, inst clust etc. Then I found this site and am getting rejuvenated.

Re: My 72 SWB BB
No, unfortunately. I bought this truck after it was passed through a couple of members on the board. I have the ORIGINAL TITLE and ORIGINAL PROTECT-O-PLATE!!! This truck is all original. Also course I will Fudge that up. It is going a PPG Vibrance Pearl Orange, and Lexus Pearl White. Airbagged and 22'' in the rear and 20" in the front with a complete orange interior. Seat, carpet, everything!!!

Yes, I am in Chemical Plant alley. The birthplace of Texas, Deer Park Tx. The San Jacinto Monument is about 2 miles down the road from me.

Re: My 72 SWB BB
Let me know if you are serious. "Randomhero472" dropped his truck off yesterday from Oklahoma but is so clean it will not take as long as originally anticipated. He was smart and bought as many new panels as he could to save money and time on his project.

Re: My 72 SWB BB
would you drop motor first or wait til paint is done? my core support aint that bad but got a new one as well as inner fenders to have installed. gonna get better pics tomorrow but only dent is one in this pic. having trouble finding 72 bb mounts and towers and don't really want to drill hole in frame so not sure what to do in what order. i will be able to give you time frame after i get you good pics so you can be as close as possible w/o eyeballing. I added receipts on stuff i bought 7k so ive got to finish plus ive had truck since around 94 or so titled in 95

Re: My 72 SWB BB
Would prefer the truck running if at all possible. Makes it easier for me to get in and out of the shop on my own. What color are you thinking about? If you change the color it would be better to paint just the firewall and then install the motor and bring it to me. If that is not possible than bring the truck and the motor seperate and I can paint the firewall and then have my mechanic that works for me at the shop install the motor. Someone will chime in here on what to do about the big block brackets. Someone knows a trick but I do not remember whom it was.

Re: My 72 SWB BB
Few things I need to get done to drive there besides dropping motor.Need to buy/install blazer fuel cell took out of cab and trashed prob could have sold here. I heard fuelcell guy is near me though so might check with him also got a few bracket pulley issues, got most but need bb pwr sterring set up maybe just bracket do not know. Exhaust. I will need to install core support here before trip for new 4 core be cool . So I guess it adds up quick. I am gonna get you those pics and I'll be interested to see how much work there is. I don't think it is as bad as I may of thought which is good.

Re: My 72 SWB BB
Hey man, you're close !
Don't hold me to it, but I think you can just use small block "square body" mounts In my dads 72 thats what we did to set in the 454 (but it's been a while, so I could be wrong) |
