Any difference between 67-68 bellhousing other than input opening?

Doing a trans swap on my 68 swb from a TH350 to a Muncie M20 car 4 speed. Should I use a 1967 bell housing vs. 1968, as I believe the input opening went from 4-11/16 in 67 to 5-1/8 in 68. My thinking is that it would be advantageous to avoid having to use a bell housing adapter ring. Thoughts on the topic would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, it's being mated to a 1968 L79 327 motor.
