1970 k2500 Axels
Hi everyone. First post here. Just purchased a 1970 K2500. I have the build sheet from the factory and am wondering if there is a way to tell what axels are on my truck.
Thanks Tony. |

Re: 1970 k2500 Axels
Front if original will be an open knuckle drum brake Dana 44 and the rear (assuming it's a gmc because you said K2500) will be a most likely a Dana 60. If it's a Chevy most likely its an eaton ho52 but could be a 60 as well. 4:11 is the standard ratio assuming it came with a 350.

Can't post pics as the truck is at the shop getting some new inner fender fenders and a new rad support. It is a GMC. Thought there might be a code on the build sheet that would say. Thanks Tony.

Re: 1970 k2500 Axels
all these 4wds used Dana44 front axles and a K2500 would have a Dana60 rear.

Re: 1970 k2500 Axels
Thanks for all the info. I will post pictures at some point but many of you regulars have likely seen the truck. It was on ebay a couple times. It's the green and white custom camper that at 1 time was in Washington state.
Thanks again Tony. |
