Gas gauge bounceing
My gas gauge flicker between 1/2 and 3/4. I have replaced the sending unit and the resister on the back of the gauge its self. When I disconnect the wire to the sender my gauge goes to full so I know that’s working. Any Ideas on where to look next????
This is driving me Nuckin Futs. Thanks Steve

The bolts holding the tank in is the ground.
Corrosion is common. |

Check the whole length ofwire going to your sending unit. It sounds as if sending unit wire is chafed through and is grounding out on the body or possibly even the gas tank. I had the same problem and found that the way that the sending unit wire looped over and behind the gas tank chafed through the wires jacket.
Hope this helps |
