Where do you guys put your speakers?
I have this set of 6x9's I'm selling.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=162747 The problem is that I really don't want to sell them but I don't want to go into my door. I had no problem cutting into the door before but the body shop guys urethaned a sweet piece of aluminum on the bottom of both doors and now I don't want to cut into that. Mostly because it looks awesome. Where else are you guys putting 6x9's?

Have seen several installs of 6x9's in speaker boxes, they slide under
the seat quite nicely, however the sound quality may be muffled.

My problem with that is I have those 2000 buckets to install and I know there isn't enough room under there.

I custom built two boxes and carpeted them and mounted them under the dash pointing down. You can see the boxes but my wife didn't notice they were there the first few times she rode in it they blended in so well. I also removed the fuel tank and custom built a box behind the seat for two 12" subs and mounted the amp under the seat and built a shelf inside the glove box and mounted a 12 disc CD changer.

You could do this http://web.njit.edu/%7Ecas1383/proj/...nels/index.htm.
6x9s are pretty big but you may be able to get them to fit in the kick panel space.

I also saw a double speaker (stereo) that can be mounted in place of the original speaker. It may have been in a magazine or perhaps on an ebay auction. I don't remember where.

I don't think 6x9's will fit. Especially with the emergency brake

I have that little jumpseat that comes with those seats. No actual fold down console. I kind of have to have the jumpseat for my daughter.

I think you might want to install them in a box or 2 boxes just behind your feet at the base of the seat with the speakers tilted up somewhat (I have been working on a design for this). The boxes they sell at most audio places for 6 x 9's are too big for our application, but I like the wedge design.

I was going to put a set in custom boxes that fit better like 69 Short Fleet said. Have you removed the gas tank from the cab? If so, try mounting them in the cab corners. That's how I'm gonna do mine when I change the gas tank.
Goo luck on your decision.

I still have the gas tank installed. One of the many things I'm going to kick my self for not having the body shop do when it could have been done easy.

Here's some pics of my speaker boxes front and rear.
Front 6X9's mounted under dash pointing down. Rear 12" subs mounted behind the seat after tank was removed. 12 disc CD changer mounted inside glove box compartment.

I have used to 6X9 boxes on the floor in fron of the seat. Mine were not a cube, they slope downward lengthwise. the rectangle ones dug into my ankles. The sloped ones give you just enough clearence.

I don't believe these badboys will. They are way too big on the bottom. They will hit the glass. Also I'm not too keen on that look.

if you could find a way to do it to the seats that you have you could mount them in the headrest like in a mazda miata, it might be alot of work but i think it would be really neat and unique.

I have a pair of 6 x 9 's mounted in my extended cab. Do they sell a speaker set up for stereo sound that would go in place of where the original speaker went. Someone told me that they did but I can't find who sells it.
