camshaft options
I need to replace my camshaft. It's in a chevy 305 v8.Got a 4 barrel carb and hooked up to a 700r4 tranny. It's just a stock 305 but wondering what I should put in it for a cam. Would like good power with pretty good fuel economy. I've been told to try an RV cam but someone also told me a cam for a high output 305 would work really well or would I be best to use a stock cam. Just wondering what you guys on here are using or would use in my situation. Thanks for any info!!

Re: camshaft options
the cast numbers for the hp 305 heads are 14014416 they got a 58cc combustion chamber and 1.84 int /1.5 ext valves. (if i remember correctly) the hp cam you spoke of would work good with these heads. if they just plan old 305 heads stick with the rv cam. if you looking for performance id find a 350 lots of bang for the buck. hope this helps, just my .02 cents worth
