Anybody collect Nascar diecast stuff?
My dad has a bunch of 1:24 scale and 1:64 cars in original boxes that are about 10 years old collecting dust. All the boxes have Racing Champions on them and some are limited edition gold cars. Half of them are Mark Martin and the other half are Terry Labonte. A few are some other driver. There's a new Labonte throw blanket and a sealed 50th Anniversary Monopoly game also. Just wondering if anybody is familiar with this stuff and if there was any value to any of it?

Re: Anybody collect Nascar diecast stuff?
They way over-produced that stuff.I don`t see it bringing alot.Check Ebay to get an idea on values.I`m sure there atre certain pieces that are worth more than what they cost new.

Re: Anybody collect Nascar diecast stuff?
That's what I figured. I just did a quick search on ebay and couldn't find any of the stuff.

Re: Anybody collect Nascar diecast stuff?
Go somewhere that has a decent magazine rack and buy the "Die Cast Digest". It is/was a monthly and has 100+ pages of diecast, mostly Nascar items in all categories and sizes. It lists most items made. The magazine will drive you a little crazy until you get the hang of it. It breaks the items down by manufacturer then size but, sometimes these companies are intertwined at some point. Unofficially, "Racing Champions" bring less than some of the other manufacturers, not to say there aren't some valuable individual pieces among them. The prices are a guide and don't always represent what the market will pay.

Re: Anybody collect Nascar diecast stuff?
I`d say the non-diecast memorabilia would bring the most. It`s generally more obscure.
On another note.I collected zillions of those diecast promo banks,non-NASCAR stuff.I bought two of alot so I could pay for my keeper when the price doubled...uh,they`re worth less than what I paid for them?I go on Ebay and see these banks and generally there are no bids and the ones that sell are way below what they should sell for.I really like them and maybe someday...But,now they`re just a bunch of boxes stashed in bigger boxes.
