Scale models?
Been a long time since I put together kits of model airplanes and cars. Does anybody make model kits for 67-72 C-10s?

I picked up a recent release of a red 72 longbed with upper and lower trim lines. I twasn't released that long ago so you may find it at some of the model shows. I previously had some of the main body parts to it (cab bedsides grill and hood I think) still gottem in a baggie somewhere but they are in ragged shape need a little work to make them usable. I will try to find out who makes it and a kit # and let you know. Email Cwilliams@lear.com

Check out e-bay under truck models. I see them every week and they run about $15.00 plus shipping. Watch out for the shipping charges. Shouldn't be over $7.00.
Good luck.

I have found a lot of die casts, but I am still unable to find anyone that make the actual plastic models of our trucks.

Thanks, people. Been so long since I've done kits, that I even forgot it was AMT who made the model cars. Reckon the thing to do is call the hobby shops and see if somebody can get one? All I really want to do is put one together, so I'll have a better idea of how my real '71 C-10 is put together. Shoulda thought of this 30 years ago. But then, I didn't need to know back then. Takes these trucks a long time to fall apart.
Thanks again, and will do! |

Dub magazine has some cool die-cast models, but they are allready assembled, so far I have seen 8 or 9 different color schemes and I have bought all of them so far. They have 20" wheels on them and a stereo system in the bed but the interior and engine bay are stock, pretty cool!

There's a Blazer out there, too. At one time, it was also packaged as a Monster Truck.

Crew Chief '72 Blazer
Here is one of the '71-'72 1/25th scale AMT kits sold back in the day. This is the one molded in yellow. The Boondocker Blazer kit was molded in white and was very similar to the crew chief. Both were issued in the early 70's. Monster '72 Blazer This is another '71-'72 Blazer called the AMT Thundebolt II kit that was made in the late 80's. This one is hard to find. |

Ive found both The 72 cheyenne ( by AMT) and the 69 blazer ( metal kit by AMT ) at the local Walmart. Ive always just kept an eye out occasionally when Im in there. The Franklin Mint 72 Cheyenne is the best die cast Ive seen though ,so far. It does have a few irregularities, however. Has anyone elseseen them?

I have that Dub truck but in Black. Bought it at a truck stop recently in BFE Wyoming. It is a short fleet with Cheyenne package. Very original except for the wheels. Also have the Boondocker Blazer kit unopened and the 2 Crew Chief blazers, one complete unassemble and one partial for parts. These had the option of using stock tires or off road bigger tires. Also have several of the Ertl die cast '69 Blazers including the WIX set with trailer and chevelle, Penny's Auto Center, U.S. Marshall, and just he plain one that you put together yourself. Also have a '67 LWB "Exxon, put a tiger in your tank" truck. Last but not least, a '69 SWB stepside hotwheels.
If anyone wants pics, let me know and I'll post some tonight.

DUB trucks
Go to www.jadatoys.com and they have all kinds of these style models on their site. Jada toys is the company that makes these, they don't show all of the colors but I believe there is 8 of them. I have the candy red, red, red/white, yellow, yellow/white, black, black/silver, silver. I have seen them with a couple different wheel options also.

Had to post some pics of the collection. Forgot to mention the one my wife bought me at Hallmark the other day. It's in the upper right hand corner. It's a green and white '72 Cheyenne Super Christmas ornament! How sweet is that!! If anyone wants a better pic, I'll post one on the message board.
