A 68 GMC I saw while on vacation

Saw this up the Poudre Canyon this weekend while coming back from vacation, thought I would pass it along. It has a V-6, power brakes, and what looks like buddy buckets with the center missing.

The bad - The hood hinges were all broke up, the hood latch was missing, rust in the usual spots, and a fairly large dent in the rear of the drivers front fender. The tags on the plates were last renewed in 1995. No idea if it runs or not, but the battery and cables looked pretty new.

Re: A 68 GMC I saw while on vacation

First of all that there is a '67.....hence the no side markers. Not a bad looking foundation for a project. Too bad about that grill though. Not sure about the seats- we'd have to see the upholstery to tell if they indeed are buddy buckets or some transplants out of a car or van. I'd offer $800 and see if he bites, but I personally wouldn't pay more than a grand for it.

Re: A 68 GMC I saw while on vacation

Oops, typo, yeah I meant 67. I'm 99.999% sure they are buddy buckets, just missing the center. The seat covers are green, but they had the slip-on covers on them, but there was a bit of vinyl showing.

Other than the license plate being bolted to the tailgate, the gate is mint!

I have enough of these, I'm not interested in buying.

Looks like a typical western truck. That would be a great start for someone. Aren't those small-letter GMC tailgates pretty scarce?

Yeah, those T-gates are a bit tough to find in good shape. If I had the scratch I'd like to buy it as a donor for my '67 GMC SWB.

I think so. I have seen '67 GMC's with small letter and large letter.

only the small letter gates were stock on them though
My 70 has a small letter gate, but all that means is it's a mutt from hell.

And for the record, I got a text at 1 in the friggen AM, my $2500 comment, Iment that's about what that would sell for here.... I'm not trying to out bid or anything.

Those are the buddy buckets, I recognize the frame between the seats, mine are missing the center seat too!

^^^How about I get in my truck and drive to Columbus so we can arm wrestle for it...say 1 am tonight?
I`d love to stumble on that to help with my`67 GMC custom "creation".
Man...I saw Poudre Canyon and got a flush of nostalgia.I lived up there back in 77/78 for a while.

No kidding? That's cool! You probably know where this thing is sitting then. It's in front of the old Kinikinik store. My wife's grandmother grew up there, her parents owned that place for a loooooong time.

I never noticed that there were two types of tailgates. Anyone have pictures to show the difference?
