Okay, what movie is this? I'm showing my age and the fact that I grew up under a rock. Still live there, in fact.

Re: Dazed and Confused

Dazed and Confused.
Lots of neat ol' cars in that.
A decent representation of small town america in 1976. At least, it rinded me of the small town I grew up in (north of san francisco about 45 minutes also where American Graffitti was filmed). I believe thats also when I saw Smokey and the Bandit for the first time and decided I wanted a Trans Am.

Ahhhh memories!

funny thing about that, I was born in the town where it was supposed to take place, which is silly because I feel like it would have been easier to actually film it in modesto...

Gone In 60 Seconds (the original, not the Nicholas Cage remake)
Drive Angry (yes, Nick Cage, it's bat-sh** crazy, but fun)
The Blues Brothers (best car chase movie ever)

I love the original. Kind of cheesy as far as acting but the car scenes rank up there as some of the best.

here is the full original chase scene.

Greatest car chase Ever - YouTube

here is the full original chase scene.
I saw an interview with the real life wife of the actor driving that mustang a few years back.. she pulled the wrecked car out of the garage and did some sick doughnuts in it and it was still smashed to hell. The story was during filming, they shot that without telling the police, and the crash into the phone pole was not scripted. It happened and they just kept filming. When He took off again they just went with it.
