Re: Been going to car shows
Truck looks great, no clue what's wrong with those people. Maybe a little more drop? A 4"/6" drop would look great on there.

I think he probably meant your making GMC look bad because you did a much better job on your truck than GMC ever did. Truck looks awesome.

I am on board with cdowns on this one...the folks who can relate to these trucks will relate to Ralley Wheels, Cragers, Slots, and TT II's before they will connect to the 20-22" wheels. It's about taste and beeing able to connect. All in all ...you my friend have a very nice lookin truck!!

Re: Been going to car shows
I spend a lot of time judging at the Midwest All Truck Nats in Riverside, Mo and I can say that I have seen all levels of drivers and Trailer Queens. I would just point out that EACH and EVERY one of us has a plan and sometimes that takes money and sometimes it doesn't. If you are comfortable with your truck and some dude lays crap on you, then he is not worth the time it takes to brush him off. Once again, if you are happy let it go, dude. Just listen to what some say and then sit back and consider their input against what else you see at a show. You may decide to make some changes, then again, it is OK if you don't. The car show circuit is "Fickle", if you want to get an award each and every time you go, then you have to upgrade the truck weekly---and it costs a lot. HOWEVER, if you go to have a good time, see cars and trucks, and get to know people, that is what it is really about.
In the end, those awards may get you an extra cup of coffee at the restaurant, if you include the money with it. BY THE WAY---you ALL are welcome at our show---come see us in September.

Re: Been going to car shows
i'll chime and agree that your truck is very nice, the guy is likely a hater. i agree that wheels are a personal preference, but still no one could honestly say the truck isn't sweet no matter the preference. (i like it)

Re: Been going to car shows
As for my personal preference, the only thing I don't like is the wheels. That doesn't mean I don't like the truck. I'm certainly not going to make comments like that guy made. The main thing is: Are YOU happy with your truck? Many people build their vehicle and worry about what everyone else thinks. People are going to be critical no matter how you build it. I love my truck and I built it how I wanted it. I've had people express their opinions about how they would've done it. It's YOUR truck and YOUR money you're putting into it. Build it how You want it.
I would've told the guy he makes people look bad.

Re: Been going to car shows
I agree with everyone else, dont be discouraged by bad reactions or comments.... People dont understand the amount of work it takes to get these trucks to look even "decent" let alone to be as awesome as your truck. I pick jealousy as well, that guy wouldnt know a good looking truck from a hole in his head. Enjoy your truck for you, enjoy the compliments from the smart people and drive the wheels off of it!

Re: Been going to car shows
Those kind of people have a special place they will go some day!! LOL
Now for what it's worth: I built my truck to suit me. I have people who love it and those who don't care much for it. That's fine with me I didn't build it for them. I have entered it in a few shows and won nothing and had very few comments on it. That is OK too! Most shows are for the regular shower's and if you only go to one or two you very seldom get noticed. I look at it this way. I have a nice parking spot as stated earlier and I have a chair with drinks to enjoy the day with. Just enjoy your ride man and it's all good. Don't let people make you feel bad about the truck it's your's not theirs! The truck is awsume, I wouldn't change it.
