Under the hood

Probably a paint and body question, but does anyone have any suggestions for final prep for repro parts installed. Do these parts, such as grill supports need to have an additional coat of paint applied before install? If so, what should I use? Gloss or Flat, if any?

Re: Under the hood

if they come painted then they should be fine and the only work they need is the prep work for final paint

I was in the Corvette restoration business for about 16 years. Black is not just black. There are several shades and sheen's of black that are used on various parts. Investing in some good restoration books is really a must if you are going to do a proper job of restoring parts for your truck. I'm sure there are books available for your truck to assist in the restoration process. These books as well add another extension to the truck / car hobby as I still quite enjoy a good coffee as I read or research info. from these books.
