62 c10 Drop block with bags question
I have a 62 c10 and am planning on putting air bags on the rear. I have read that it is good to use a 2 inch drop block and drop coils when doing a static drop (in order to have better suspension travel and shock length) and when seeking to go as low as you can with bags. I am not planning to raise and lower my truck with the bags but rather want to install them in order to have a softer ride. If I use bags and want to have a 5 inch drop I am going to have to use cups to keep the rear high enough. The question is. Do I install the 2 inch drop blocks and then add cups to raise it up again? Which seams counter productive. To clarify the truck has trailing arms.

Don't use the blocks. Install the bags and see if it sits where you like it. You can go lower or higher from there easy enough.

Re: 62 c10 Drop block with bags question
Bags with cups on them in the rear of my truck had the truck around stock height, maybe a little taller when inflated for a comfortable ride. I would suggest installing the bags first, find the pressure which you like best for comfort/height, and then decide if you want to install blocks. I am in the middle of redoing my rear bag setup, installing a notch, and mounting the bags directly to the frame. I think I may end up using a block to take full advantage of the notch, but I am trying to get as low as possible when aired out.
