Rear leaf Spring Question
I have a 72' c-10 long bed with a leaf spring rear, 12 bolt, looks like someone put some add a leafs and some weird shackle helpers in, what i am trying to find out is how many springs sould have made up the leaf stock? also would it the axle have been above or below the springs, mine's below but doesn't apear to have any welding or cutting done to it. help me please , or i will just pull em till it drags on the ground!!!!!!!! lol!!!!!

The axle is below the springs. I am not sure if this will help, but the Burb we have has 7 leafs in the spring.

Thanks for the help, yea my axle is under the spring, I had a total of 7 with the helper springs, 5 once removed, yet the truck still sits higher than a 4x4 in the rear, looks like i can pull 1 or 2 more, we shall see.

I'm not sure what you mean by "shackle helpers" but it sounds like they are for a lift. If you plan on "using" your truck I'd leave the springs alone and look for the proper shackles. Just my $.02.
