Best Quality of mirrors and door handles?
Can someone please tell me where to get the best quality of door mirrors and door handles.
I put on new ones 5 years ago and already the chrome is so badly spikled (spelling?) it looks awful. Is the quality of all these items so bad that I have to replace them every 4 to 5 years? cya, Edmond Dutch Longhorn

Genuine Gm if you can find it over there. Once in awile these parts showup on e-bay, but may be tough finding someone to ship there. I "think" one sport mirror and outer door handle may still be available through gm. Not cheap however. Good luck, Eric

NOS is the best, but pricey if you can find them.

Yep, I have been through 4 sets of mirrors in 4 years and hate them all...mainly because they are made from lightweight steel and vibrate a ton.
I am about to go with west coast style mirrors on my '70.

Re: Best Quality of mirrors and door handles?
I know that Brothers Trucks carries the original GM and repop outside door handles. I think the original GMs go for around $99, where the repops go for $49/pair. They are not listed in the catalog, but they frequently have them in stock. Perhaps the same on the mirrors. I went a different route on my mirrors. It would be worth giving them a call (800) 977-2767. They are a board vendor!

Re: Best Quality of mirrors and door handles?
I was afraid of that. The Repro's are indeed junk.
I don't mind paying a bit more as long as the quality is good. I'm gonna try Brothers for the original GM ones. Thanks guys! Cya, Edmond Dutch Longhorn
