383 Stroker
I need a combo that put out 400+hp and alot of tourqe. need ideas on parts to use to get good peformance

with a 383 stroker thats no problem. Get some 443 or 993 casting heads have the block and heads decked to 10:1 with flat top pistons use an rpm air gap and a good .48/.48 230/230 acutal duration cam and u got it.

I think using some of the new vortec heads would be another good option.

Vortecs would definately be a good choice for a iron set of heads!!

votecs have small intake runners...very nice for a mild 350, but for the extra cubes, a head with flow in the 200cc range would be better. The vortecs are thin castings and demand unusual matching parts(at a great expense). If stock heads are what you want, go with the 993's or 882's or any other one. I would look at the Pro topline or Dart iron eagles...very reasonable, and offer great performance. They are real thick castings and lend themselfs to port work if you choose. They cam be had for under 750.00.

993 casting head are the dart iron eagle cast. here in san antonio a guy sells 993 polished decked 2.02/1.60 heads with .50+ lift springs for 425 dollars(pair) assembled with pined studs
