Re: 1960 GMC full hubcap mystery!

here is another shot from that ebay auction, and a pic of a 56 chev belair full wheel cover from danchuck.
yesterday is the first i have ever seen artwork of a 60 with full wheel covers.
however, the cameos in 55, and maybe 56 did use the 15 inch belair wheel cover, I am not sure about 57 and 58, because the belair wheel dropped to 14 inch, but the truck stayed 15 inch. I haven't seen a factory photo of a 57-66 with anything but the small hub cap

Jonz your eagle eye should make for some happy 1960-61 Chevrolet truck's
Now if we could only edit the thread title to Chevrolet instead of GMC

Reference 1958-66 Chevrolet Light Duty Parts Book.

5.858 DISC, WHEEL CHROME
............4....3722302................. same part# as 1956 Chevrolet Full Wheel Disk

9 before the two last #s indicates GMC example 910 = 1/2 ton gmc
C Chevrolet
G Corvair
P Forward Control ( gruman style )

Re: 1960 GMC full hubcap mystery!

I am tempted to put a set of those on my 65 just to see how they look...
next time I am out at my dads I will dig some of those out and get a shot of it.
wonder if anyone ever ponied up the extra cash for full wheel covers on a truck in 60-61?...

Re: 1960 GMC full hubcap mystery!

There is some artwork for the 1960 GMC which includes the standard 60 dogdish and and the ribbed trim rings from the earlier Cameo/Carrier trucks. Those rings were reproduced for a while but there don't seem to be any currently available.

Re: 1960-61 Chevrolet Full Disk Hupcap mystery! Solved!

Well, its been a long time since this thread was posted, but wondering if anyone ever produced any proof these full wheel covers were also available for 1961 models, or if this was a 1960 only option?
