Which mufflers?

I am trying to decide between Hooker Maxflow or AeroChambers or Pypes Race Pros. I know the Hookers flow better but I can get polished stainless Pypes for slightly more. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jeff

Re: Which mufflers?

Best advice is go with best/preferred sound, price and quality. Advertised flow numbers and horsepower gain, if believable, among brands really won't be felt in the seat of the pants. So unless you are building a full-on race machine they are likely irrelevant.

LMAO!!! Blowmasters. Around these parts we call them FlowCrappers.

JEFF, I'm using the Hooker Aerochambers and dollar for dollar THE BEST sounding and Best FLOWING muffler on the market today. Worth every dime. Solid Construction and a sound that makes heads turn. Everyone knows what a Flow.....uh, I mean, a Blowmaster sounds like, it sounds like everyone else.

Re: Which mufflers?

I have been looking up different sound clips from each manufacture and also youtube does help some. Its hard for anyone to tell you what would be good for your ears and taste on your own ride. also whats good for your pocket. but I prefer magnaflow but I may try something like dynomax race bullets this time around.

Re: Which mufflers?

well I'm a guy that wants to have my mufflers Last all of the one lised last about 5-8 years then they rust out and crack the baffles take a beating and sence i worked in a muffler shop for 9 years seen all them go to the waist side Now I bought some 40 inch Glass packs and there still under the truck 15 year later even tho they are not as quit as they use to be there getting louder But every one that hears my truck His a a very cool sound and when i'm on the Freeway in the carpool lain and i open it up sounds like a Nascar there are on my 1965 3/4 ton with a 350 with a 2 speed power glide the motor and mufflers have over 750,000 miles on them after 15 years of daily use for being used in the junk hauling business

I love flowmasters too, it is a classic sound but i personally think Spintechs sound the best. I'm using them on my truck.

Re: Which mufflers?

I have a set of Flowmaster's Super 44 Mufflers on my short bed and I love the sound. It's full 3" with big old tips just under the steps. Love the sound of them but I have only had them on for about 2 months.

Re: Which mufflers?

I think the glass packs have a very classic tone and resonance. I had flow masters and they rattled too much, and the resonance in the cab was annoying on a long trip. I used a Patriot glass pack and have been happy with the sound and performance.
