What's this 65 SWB worth?
I'm wanting a rat rod style truck and a buddy has this one he's wanting to sale. He told me 5300 but that seems steep to me, what are your opinions? Here's a quick run down...
It is factory V8 283 with a 350 turbo transmission the truck does run and drive. It has been swapped over to billet hei distributer and has 4 barrel zz4 aluminum intake and fresh rebuilt holly carb, and a new mini torque starter with new valve covers. The gas tank has been relocated to under the bed, and it now has 4 wheel power disc brakes drilled and slotted roters brand new from cpp with new 2.5" drop spindles on front with 1" drop coils and 4" CPP drop springs on rear with adjustible track bar. New truck rallies with new 255/70/15 tires.Truck also has new ram horn manifolds and brand new 2 1/2 inch exhaust. I do have all the molding for the sides and the rails for the wood bed. All lights work including brake lights. Here's some pics... |

In California it would be $6500-7500 and gone by now... assuming there's not too much rust.

Re: What's this 65 SWB worth?
Every region is different, but for $5300....you could buy a lot more truck down here.
Edit: Hows the body rust wise? Does have some of the hard work done to it, I'd just try and get the price down some. Not a half ton, but good example and near the NC/TN border. Great looking 1 ton....$4000

I would buy in a second. Already V8, automatic, disc brakes new tank, short bed. Runs and drives . Well worth it anymore.

Buy it. All the hard stuff is done and it's a swb.

Re: What's this 65 SWB worth?
I'll put it this way. It looks farther along than mine and has some stuff that is better than mine and I wouldn't sell mine for $5300.
Sounds like a pretty good price to me.

Re: What's this 65 SWB worth?
You'd be well ahead of the game buying that truck by far. I have more than that and mine doesn't have a floor, drivetrain, or plumbing. Sigh.... I should have waited for a better truck. Lol

Re: What's this 65 SWB worth?
Sounds like y'all made my mind up for me, here's some rust shots I got earlier... Cab corners and supports are good, bed box is solid, floor is solid best I can tell. Drivers side rocker it rusted through, backs lowers of the front fenders are through and back side of hood...

Re: What's this 65 SWB worth?
Offer a bit lower and harp on the rust through. If you get it for say $4500, your money ahead. If not, its still a good by at $5300

Re: What's this 65 SWB worth?
One concern. How bad is this rust on the pillars?
