V8 Information
I am rebuilding a '72 for my son. I am trying find out what V8 I have in the truck. The engine came partially disassembled and the guy I bought the truck from couldn't tell a straight story if he had to. The engine appears to be a collection of different parts ( possibly a remanufactured engine). The date codes if I read right are '69 block and '78 heads. The part numbers (if I read right) are heads 333882, and block 14016379. Can anyone idenify if these are the correct years or if not , what years they are. Any help would be appreciated.

if there is a stock carb that came with it, what are the numbers on there? by the way, depending on what GM codes are on the heads, those are some of the better stock heads.

Thanks guys. Make sense. Its a two bolt main block and unfortunatly there is no carb. The guy did say it ran real well. We'll see when I get it rebuilt. Now I know what I'm looking at.

Those heads should flow decent but they are prone to cracking because of the thin casting, so be careful.
