Turn signals and brake lights not working properly

Ok guys I've been chasing down this and wiring is not my strong suit. . I thought maybe it was bad connection on the column harness, I have a cheap aftermarket chrome column and the adapter didn't plug in snug, so I cut them off and wired with quick connects. Matched wires by color. Still nothing, However I get my right side flasher when the flasher knob is pressed. But no right signal when using the turn signal, or anything on the left side. And no brake lights. New brake switch. All the wiring is new plug and play aaw, new grounds, grounded the tail light buckets. Headlight and tail work. Any suggestions?

My guess is the colors on the new column don't match the factory. I know when I put a 69 column in my 64, the wiring coloring wasn't a perfect match.

NOTE: this may help some. It was something I put together for troubleshooting issues with my lights on my 64. Most stuff should still apply, or at least get you closer

thank you for that. I checked and verified and is correct. I tested the harness on the fuse panel side and the only wire that have power are the brown wire and the green wire when flashers are on.

Re: Turn signals and brake lights not working properly

Do a search on this site and find a wiring diagram for the whole truck. That way you can trace out the whole circuit. But if everything worked before the new column well you know where the issue is.

Don't assume new parts are good. Troubleshoot this as if it was a customer vehicle you had no previous knowledge of. This thread should help you.

Are you sure those quick connects are making good contact? I solder everything because I don't trust connectors
