Older Accessories:Visor

I had to clear out a building to do some work and uncovered this visor I bought years ago when I was building a C/30 work truck.J&J Enterprices used to make these in chrome and primed.I ordered a chrome but had to send it back. These have louvers in them and although it was listed to fit 10-30s it had to be cut around the "factory" cab lights. So,it didn`t fit a C/30.I sent it back because I didn`t want to hack up something that was already chromed. They made me pay shipping and charged me a restock fee even though I felt it was their mistake(improperly listed). The new one showed up and I stashed it.A few days later I come home and feel deja vu.There`s a box the same size in the same place.Well, they screwed up and sent me two.If they hadn`t charged me for their mistake I would have let them know.I put the one on a work truck I had and this one never got cut and installed on the one ton.
I`ve never been a fan of add-on stuff like visors. But,I was going or all the big rig stuff on my one ton utility body. They are a nice gauge of steel and really don`t look too bad. It`s a shame to put holes in the top these days. Here it is set on a truck, not mounted properly.Just an general idea.

Sad about the charges and all, but you got 2 out of the deal! I think those only look good on lowered panels. JMO

Re: Older Accessories:Visor

It would look good on a C/60 The truck I put the other one was a 1/2t longbed with a Reading work cap, level with the cab, like the one on my`92.It looked like a panel at a glance.I just wanted to use it and it helped keep crap from my scaffold off the windshield. It looked alright on a commercial vehicle.I had a ladder rack anyway, which hangs over the cab/windshield.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I'm with Dan. On a big truck, maybe. But these don't have any aesthetic value at all, in my opinion.

Re: Older Accessories:Visor

I know nobody likes visors(these days).I just thought you 67/72 fans might like to see a rather unique accessory from days gone by.I felt it was the best looking one out of all available and it`s heavy steel.I`d consider running it on a medium duty cab.I wouldn`t run stacks on a pickup, either. But,i`d run`em on a medium duty. This is the kind of stuff you do to bigger trucks.

Re: Older Accessories:Visor

Looking at those pictures again, that's going to be a lot of work no matter which truck you put it on. You maybe right a meduim or bigger truck for sure!

Re: Older Accessories:Visor

I never liked visors, bug deflectors(with names),running boards, tube grilles,or any other bolt-on crap. But,I like these better than a Lund.Alot of trucks got them back until a few years ago.It was just never my style.I had a CustomCamper/30 with CST int.that I mounted an 11' utility body on,chrome Budds, had west coasts chromed, stainless hardware, lights, alot of big truck stuff.I just never got aroud to cutting it to fit the lights...and was never sure I wanted to.
