After buying this truck I wish I was still in HS

Seriously, any of you guys who are in your teens and early 20's with one of the trucks, milk them for all it's worth.

I'm 31. I have several cars. I bought my '63 C10 a little over a month ago.

I realize I'm risking sounding like a creepy dirty old man by saying this, but I swear I get hollered at by more high school and early 20's girls in this truck than any of my other cars.

I think they're more impressed with it then the guys who are old enough to have grown up with these trucks.

I drove a '74 GTO through Highschool, and man how i wish I had this truck back then instead.

Can someone please invent a time machine ASAP?

Fortunately the HS girls are not the only one that show love, it's amazing how many heads these trucks turn. Best money I ever spent

I was driving a 63 when I got out of high school and no body cared. But the truck was only 13 years old at the time.

Re: After buying this truck I wish I was still in HS

Yeah I think 13 years for a truck didn't give it enough time to age properly

It may be the area I live in, old cars here are pretty rare, I live in a big city right outside of Washington DC, so seeing an older vehicle on the road isn't very common.

My '74 GTO in HS didn't turn many heads either, except for the few people that were into older cars. But then again, that car isn't the best looking GTO ever produced either :-/

Well if I had been driving a early 30's truck they may of taken notice. That is about the same offset on the years. Trucks are like wine it take a while to get them settled in.

Ya know the thing I like about HS girls, is I get older and they stay the same age. oh yea. /quote

LOL.

You must not be in South FL, those girls down there will look at a clapped out POS Porsche 944 before they look at a new Vette or 6 Series BMW. Although when I was in HS I always did get the most compliments on my Blacked out IROC with the House of Kolors single stage paint, but I kept it mint and detailed all the time.

Re: After buying this truck I wish I was still in HS

I've noticed the following to be true

classic cars sometimes blend into the sea of vehicles on the roads, but generally even non-car people notice them. Classic trucks (especially ones like ours and earlier models, not so much the 2nd gen) are more of a WTF IS THAT!!! head turning response from everyone.

...and part of the reason I got my truck was for the CDI factor

Re: After buying this truck I wish I was still in HS

i had a '63 c10 flatbed & a '57 210 2 door (pink & white) in high school. the only girls that would ride with me was my future wife. when i got my '70 road runner they ALL wanted to ride then. tough cookies toots. but yall are right, our rides stick out in a sea of sameness, and that's a good thing!

Enjoy it. It's a perk of the passion.

yeah i enjoyed driving mine in high school/college. I even met a hot girl in my friends pool who drove a 66 stepside that her dad put together for her to drive. Too bad I never met her again.

Re: After buying this truck I wish I was still in HS

I see a lot of people looking at the old truck as I pass (even before twilight craze) and my truck is a beater, currently. I think maybe people just appreciate something different.
