ELECTRICAL HELP: Time for new taillight wiring harness!
On my new 71 K-10 the passenger side taillight and side marker light (on box) do not work. Started diagnosing by checking the bulbs and they were fine. Then went and got a multimeter and found no power at socket. Crawled underneath and found a mess of wires. Everything has been spliced into and the wiring is cracking and falling apart. Instead of trying to fix this mess I would rather get a new harness. It appears there is a socket that this harness plugs into. I need to know if I order a new harness that all I have to do is unplug this and plug and route the new one. Rear are some pics of that socket:

Looks like there was a towing light harness spliced in there a couple times. I plan on getting a couple plug ends and making a plug in harness for mine, I have yet to see one with a plug like ours at the store.
The replacement harnesses are indeed a plug and play deal. |
