Sandalwood Interior Pics
Alright who's got all of the sandalwood interior pics stashed away? I am working on a 70 c10 that originally had sandalwood interior and the previous owner converted it all to black. I am hoping to convert it back to Sandalwood but I am having a hard time with carpet, dash pad, steering column, steering wheel, etc. I have found reproduction seat covers and door panels that I assume are correct but I wanted to reference some complete interiors before I order anything.
Thanks for the help guys!

Re: Sandalwood Interior Pics
I purchased my parchment dash pad from Alknoch. Lead time was excessive but I believe the issue has been resolved. (Raw Foam ingredients)
I would give them a call. No long waits and you speak to real people! https://alknochinteriors.com/ |

Re: Sandalwood Interior Pics
This is the real deal. Untouched time capsule sandalwood interior in my '70 K10. They do not repo the base model vinyl, you have to buy it with the western scroll. I was hoping to save the seat cover, but it was just a little too "crispy". Had very few tears in it. It was cool to see the 69 markings on the inside surface when I took it off. I have to say, in my opinion, an actual from the factory sandalwood interior from 1970 is hideous. It's obvious nothing matched even when brand new!

Re: Sandalwood Interior Pics
I thought all light colored interiors in the 1970 model year were called “Gold” on the SPID.
Never seen Sandalwood before. Learned something today. So is Sandalwood closer to Parchment in color?

Re: Sandalwood Interior Pics
Come say gold and some say sandalwood. Same color. That blue GMC I had said gold on the spid, and sandalwood on the build sheet

I’ve just never seen Sandalwood on the SPID. I wonder if it was an “assembly plant” thing to use gold or sandalwood?

Re: Sandalwood Interior Pics
From what I've researched on Sandlewood, it does seem Gold and Sandlewood were pretty much the same thing. It seems with Sandlewood, the seat was actually mismatched on purpose. It was more of an off-white or parchment. It seems the whole thing was kind of a disaster of different colors and materials. (I am a design engineer and even today in 2021 matching colors from different suppliers is a MAJOR headache.) It gets even worse when you try to match plastic and painted surfaces (steering column). I grew up in the 60's and 70's and remember when green and gold were the rage. Washing machines, kitchen appliances, bathroom fixtures and even the shag carpeting suffered from this fad. I didn't like it then, and still don't like it now! However, my dream project truck needs (something unmolested, but in need of total restoration) were few and far between and it is somewhat miraculous that I found what I did. I am wrestling with the guilt of actually considering changing to 518 medium green paint with a (easy to match!) black interior. I want to restore everything as close to factory as possible, but you hit on my one dilemma! I want to change it, but feel guilty in doing so since so few unmodified versions of these trucks still exist 51 years later.
