A little background; The previous owner of my truck was a long time mechanic at a Chevrolet dealership in WV.He owned the truck from around 1980 until I bought it from him 2 years ago. It was his daily driver from about 1988 till I bought it.He spent about 3 years in Arizona, and made 20-25 cross country trips in this truck during that time. Just before he sold me the truck ,it started to smoke a little on start-up,after it warmed up a little it cleared up. The engine had over 200,000 miles on it at this point. He pulled the head and had it gone through hoping it would solve the problem, even though he knew it wouldn't- in the mean time he located a complete engine with approx. 50,000 miles and replaced the complete engine. If the above link doesn't work, email me and I will send pics that way. Thanks for the interest. I will check the weight of the head and try to get shipping prices |

Can you send me your email address and I'll send the pics by email. I also found a pan with some push rods and head bolts that probably came from this head, and a new in package Fel-Pro head gasket I'll include. On a bathroom scale the head alone weighed 60 pounds,so I'm guess the shipping weight for all of it would be in the 70 lb range after its boxed up djklmartin@charterinternet.com http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...y/SANY0513.jpg http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...y/SANY0512.jpg http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...y/SANY0511.jpg http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...y/SANY0510.jpg http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...y/SANY0509.jpg http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...y/SANY0508.jpg http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...y/SANY0507.jpg http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...y/SANY0506.jpg Last edited by 69lemans; 09-25-2008 at 02:40 PM. Re: Rebuilt head-250 6 cyl
How long has it been off? I have a running 250, I just though a good spare head wouldn't hurt to have on hand?? 86042 is the zip for shipping. I just bolt the valve cover on and wrap in cardboard. I have shipped BBC heads this way and FEDEX is the least expensive.

Re: Rebuilt head-250 6 cyl
I've owned the truck almost 2 years now,and the engine was changed not long before I got it,so figure it's been off not more than 3 years. It's been in dry storage all that time. Looks like roughly 54 dollrs to ship, any more I'll eat it ,any less I'll reimburse you

Re: Rebuilt head-250 6 cyl
Still available. Have anything to trade? Good power steering box or parts to change over from 3 speed column shift to automatic maybe?
