69 k5
i have a 69 k5 and my ? is ....on the front of the , there are 4 holes where the engine crossmember can be bolted on. it seems that there are 4 there so you can pull the motor forward or backward???? does anyone know the correct bolt placement for a k5 with a 350. on mine, the were mounted in the back two holes, which seemed to make the motor too far back in to the firewall. maybe the rear two holes are for a 6 cylinder????? PLEASE HELP

the forward holes are for the L6 250

I thought that the back holes were for the 4wd's to maximize the length of the front driveshaft and the forward holes were for the 2wd pickup trucks (which means they could fit the big-block).

In 69 i think it would be the big truck motor 292 i- 6 they were heavy but tough

this truck is army green/forestry green underneath...came in 69 with the 292/3spd (and it is a monster of a 3spd, makes two of the 3spd in the 72 blazer) the rockwell T-221 ( has the PTO option on the gear drive case) , drum brakes front and back with 3.73's... my other 69 4WD had the old manual sterring box but had holes to mount a power sterring type box...this truck had some off the wall looking manual box with a different bolt pattern. had to bore holes and insert a plate to go power steering... nothing is easy for me..LOL...s. |

All the factory 4x4s had the engine in the rear mounting position. My '69 K5 is no different.
