Q-Jet filters
Where's a good place to go grab some q-jet fuel filters? I didn't bother to try and explain my truck to the autozone guy today while looking for the 3/8 in. filter I needed (that wasn't there).
"If I look up a 1969 truck on the computer, is it going to show what you need?" "No, probably not" Need to replace both before I bother driving it a long distance again. Last edited by texanidiot25; 02-06-2009 at 07:39 PM. |

Re: Q-Jet filters
I just use the stock short round paper filter. I got mine at AZ yesterday. I probably should add another in line though.

Re: Q-Jet filters
It's a good idea. Problem with the q-Jet filters is when their clogged, the fuel pressure pushes the filter off the carb to allow gas to bypass the filter. Not the best for the carb to say the least..

I just go to the back of local autozone and check where all the filters are kept along the wall and get what I need. I use one under the cab between the tank and fuel pump and the one in the carb. http://www.autozone.com/N,14900540//...eResultSet.htm |

Re: Q-Jet filters
Like they said.Use an inline on and a carb one. They usually hang on the wall and you may only find the paper ones there but the counter guy should be able to help also.

Re: Q-Jet filters
My motor isn't an original '69 motor, and god knows what my Q-Jet carb came with. I loose hope with every autozone because I can't just give straight part name (I've tried, have fun ordering an alternator) with out having to research a fake car to tell them that I own to get the parts I need.
They didn't carry my 3/8in fuel line filter either. Which is where my problems started today. When I go back up around that area I'll see, u nless my dad grabs on tonight. Last edited by texanidiot25; 02-06-2009 at 08:39 PM. |
