For those of you with black engine bays
I have a few questions for those who painted their engine bays black. What did you do with your fire wall? Did you paint it black as well or did you paint it the same color as the rest of your car?
I'm thinking about painting my truck either British racing green or flat black. If I go with flat black should the engine bay be painted flat black or gloss black? I think gloss black will look kinda funny |

Flat black would look better if the whole truck is done in black.

I've always liked my engine bay to be black regardless of the vehicle color. I like for the engine to be the center of attention in there instead of the firewall.

I prefer the firewall to be body color with the rest of the engine bay being satin or glossy black, depending on whether you're going for originality or not. Rustoleum #7777 is virtually identical to what the factory used to get that satin finish.

I am torn, I like the body colored firewall if the paint is nice, if not black everywhere!! Flat or semi, as gloss is a PITA to keep clean and free of spots!!

I found that Krylon Semi-Flat has a nice sheen to it that is very easy to touch up. Here's what I had/have.
Old setup. Of course the truck was painted black also.  New setup

i painted mine flat black, but i didn't touch the firewall.
the firewall & inside of the cab are factory original paint, complete with the white chalk writing on it. It seemed foolish to paint over that bit of history.

Semi gloss black inner fenders and core support. Body colored fire wall.
The semi gloss black is DuPont T-Coat.
