Angry aarg, mad, leak somewhere

ok, it was raining today, and i got in my truck, i noticed water droplets hitting my carpet after dropping from underneath my ashtray and glovebox, when i got home i looked, found it ran from out of the glovebox. looked in the glovebox, and ther's a puddle in there...!!!!!!!!! stupid thing, my registration insurance, etc, all soaking wet.!!!!! im pretty sure that it is the rubber on the widshield, but am wondering if it could also be somewhere else, does anyone know off the top of your head how much that rubber would cost to have someone do it for me. or has anyone else had this problem of water in the glovebox? thanx

I had a similar problem the other day - I had my hood up and the water was running into the cowl and somehow a lot of it ended up on my floor on the passenger's side of the tranny hump. I didn't know this until the other day, but I think there is a seal between the firewall and the cowl...not sure if water can leak into the cab from there. I suppose if it's that close to the glovebox, if you have A/C, it could be condensation from that or water from the heater core/assembly/lines. The heater and A/C lines come through the firewall behind the glovebox.

Weird question, but did you smell the water to see if it had an odor?

It can also leak down from the seam in the driprail thru the "A pillar" alongside the windshield.

Replacing the windshield rubber can be a do-it-yourself project. The seal costs $40 or so. See FAQs for a guide on replacing the seal. Took me less than 2 hours to take out the old and put in the new seal.

thanx guys, don't think i'll do this one myself, but thanx, i really think it's the windshield, and i don't think it was an ac line or heater core thing. I will investigate the problem more thoroughly though
