Mar 5, Sunday, What you get done this weeked

Well I have a rolling chassis/truck again. I fibnished swapping out the heated/cut springs to lower the truck with a set of stock HD that I have. I could not take a real good shot with the way the shop is packed full of stuff right now, but prior to this, the tires were at or under the lip of the rear fender. It also rode like crap.

Krazy Texan and I moved the old 305 to the metal scrap pile for now. We decided to look at the bottom end and found all my noise. Two piston rods lost their bearings and literally desitagrated. Also found at least one more that was shot to heck. Real glad I got the 350 crate as a replacement now. Cleaned up the Turbo350 some as it goes off to gman69's for a rebuild.

Fired up the old 72 Snapper (kind of surprised too) and went off into the world of yard/landscaping. Now my yard looks good, just in time to start cutting back azelias and triming the trees.

Nice weekend though.

So how bout you folks

Re: Mar 5, Sunday, What you get done this weeked

Got the rear end "altitude adjusted" with 4" springs, 1.5" blocks, shock relocation kit, and ECE Super Track Bar. I'm feeling better already!

Before!

After!

Shocks, springs, brackets, and track bar installed.

My red "winter wheels" with bullet lugs and white hub.

I have "milner" style chrome reverse being made right now by Stockton Wheel. I'll have 3' Coker wide whites in the back and 2.75" www in the front.
Next I'm installing an ECE lowered Crossmember and a drop-down trans mount to support my Tremec 5-speed. Then it's on to the front suspension.
I'll have 2.5" drop spindles plus 2" drop springs. Should sit just right.

I've learned so much from all you guys on the board. I just wanted to show you how we try to do it in the rust belt!

Cleaned out the bed of the k-25 (leftover stuff from the engine swap) and aired up a tire.

Re: Mar 5, Sunday, What you get done this weeked

I worked this weekend, however last week I gathered the stuff (except new alternator and harmonic balancer) to go serpentine on my truck. Also scrounged a set of electric fans for it. Pulled the tranny and xfer case off the trazer frame (and proceeded to break the xfer case) to clean up and reseal. Helped my brother get his truck going and hauled off 5 tons of junk.

I tightened the alternator belt. OK, so I was working in the yard and made a dump run in the truck.

Re: Mar 5, Sunday, What you get done this weeked

Worked half a day Sat. Drove to Knoxville Saturday afternoon and picked up baby clothes from my wifes hs friend. Drove to Lowe's today and picked up some shelving boards to make my wife some shelves and got a new metal shelf system to put in the garage to reorganize some stuff.

The only thing truck related was a coworker I bought some rallies off of brought them to work with him Sat. I'll get them cleaned and painted this week.

Grandfather got married this weekend, was up in North Carolina for that, saw some cool trucks while up there in the mountains. Made it back Saturday night. It was beautiful here today so I went out cruising around town and checked out a couple of the shops around here looking at there projects, good stuff.

Awhile back I managed to find a beautiful 72 LS door (few and far between around here),the only problem was a nasty dent inside. This weekend I fixed that using that section out of the old door.

Re: Mar 5, Sunday, What you get done this weeked

what did I get done on my truck? jack squat. What else did I do? Well... I worked Saturday, cruised, boozed, partied, hung out with the girl (I'm not talkin my truck either, hahaha) and that's about it. One of the best weekends I can remember (now that I think about it, it coulda been better had I had my 69 runnin top and prime, maybe even quiet, and movin legally and safely)

Re: Mar 5, Sunday, What you get done this weeked

Nothing, spent saturday AM packing for our trip to South Africa next weekend (the wife goes first on Wednesday on business) went out for a drive in the wifes Land Rover Freelander in the afternoon playing in the snow we have at the moment. Sunday the heating gas boiler broke down (again) second time in a week) so spent up until 3pm hanging around for the repairman to come and pronounce it needs another two parts which he can't get until Tuesday so hey, it's been between -4c to-7c outside at night and I have no heating for the second time in a week, *****in! Had a look at my truck parts stash which is growing slowly and took the replacement M&H engine wiring harness that will go in with my HEI dizzy. Compared it to whats there and holy cow, it bears no resemblance at all as the current wiring is so hacked (theres only two wires coming out of that plug at the moment!) so I can sense theres gonna be lots of questions coming up in the electrical section from me soon!
